Three-Year Strategic Plan Update 2021-2024

The outcomes of implementation initiatives for Wolfpack 2030: Powering the Extraordinary — NC State's strategic plan — showcase how we effectively fulfill our land-grant mission. This update provides an overview of the various activities and initiatives in the university’s most recent three-year implementation plan.

From the Chancellor

Chancellor Randy Woodson

Wolfpack 2030: Powering the Extraordinary builds upon our strengths and envisions a future of excellence in teaching, the creation and application of knowledge, and engagement with public and private partners. The first three-year implementation plan for Wolfpack 2030 was an opportunity to identify and communicate high-level, priority initiatives that contribute to meeting our seven strategic goals. The completion of this implementation plan has been made possible by many staff and faculty across the university.

At the end of this first three years, we’re experiencing success in a wide range of activities and initiatives. You can see how we’re measuring up so far and meeting key benchmarks in our three-year update metrics snapshot

As the road to 2030 is shortening, our Wolfpack keeps growing. In fall 2024, we welcomed the largest fall class in university history — for the fifth year in a row. More than 7,100 new undergraduates joined us from 98 North Carolina counties, 47 states and territories, and 55 counties around the world. Thanks to our strategic plan, we’re well-equipped to empower all members of our growing student body for a lifetime of success and impact.

We’ve come a long way over the past three years. There remains, however, much more to accomplish. What happens next in our implementation planning sets the pace for our impact across the state and around the world.

Sincerely,

Randy Woodson
Chancellor
